Lottery Hongkong Tickets Smuggled Into China

Lottery Hongkong

Lottery Hongkong is a popular lottery in the region that offers players the chance to win huge amounts of cash. The draw takes place once a week and there are different prize divisions. You can choose your numbers or use a Quick Pick facility, which is similar to the Lucky Dip option in Europe’s EuroMillions and nearly all USA state-run lotteries. This is a good way to increase your chances of winning.

It is thought that the smugglers were trying to sell the tickets to Macau and mainland China as they have a higher first prize than the HK$8 million offered in regular Mark Six draws. According to Chinese media outlet HK01, the Customs and Excise Department intercepted a river vessel last week and discovered around 16,000 Mark Six lottery tickets on board. The agency gave the tickets to HKJC, which verified that 600 of them were already redeemable for prizes worth about HK$70,000.

The tickets can be redeemed at off-course HKJC betting branches, online and via the mobile betting service. Winners can receive their prizes either in a lump sum or as a cheque. Prizes of up to HK$1 million are paid out at off-course betting branches, while those of over HK$10 million are redeemed at the HKJC main office. The tickets will be on sale until June 27, when the snowball draw is scheduled to take place. The campaign is part of a plan to revive travel to the city, which was forced into quarantine as mainland China’s tough zero-Covid policies were put into effect.
